Business Problem: Regional Insurance Company seeks to share Premium, LTC, Annuity Stats as well as Employee Training materials, reports and other metrics with various office locations spread out across South East. Currently they spend money on trainers to provide instructional classes but would like to have online web based training that new hires can have access to secured by department and job role. Also all data for Premium is kept in Excel files and emailed from office to office creating different versions and inconsistencies in data reporting. They also need a way to share company events, forms and documents, news and announcements with all employees in all offices. In addition, each office location should only be able to view data relevant to them and top level management should be able to view for all office locations.

Solution: Consolidate all training materials online and provide access to employees from one intranet portal site. Also feed all premium, annuity and LTC data to a dashboard view for management to view in Real Time. Data resides in SQL Server database but gets pushed to the dashboard every 15 minutes. Dashboard now contains events calendar for all and access to forms, documents and even a company bulletin board. Added content areas for various departments. Managers have views to see critical metrics while lower level employees do not. Different office locations see only relevant data and reporting while the top level management can see all. Managers can get clear visibility on production in all offices spread out in the region.
